From the Desk of Principal
Globalization demands a new dimension to our approach to education. Today, children are growing in a more challenging and demanding environment. With the enhanced knowledge exchange and technology development, the rate of change in every sphere is rapid. We, thus have to recognize the need for a globally relevant education. Such an education would mean imparting skills that would develop mental agility in individuals to confidently interact and work in diverse environments or situations.
Our school curriculum is oriented to bolster the physical, emotional, social and cultural needs of the students with wide range of multi-dimensional activities for their holistic development. In all our endeavours, the main focus of our curriculum is to strengthen competencies needed to be autonomous and lifelong learners with self-belief, confidence in decision making and problem solving along with chiselling of soft skills.
Education is highly valued by our society and as a school community we have high expectations for our students. Our school motto “To Lead towards enlightenment from the darkness of Ignorance” inspires us to equip students with the skills to learn and to adapt in an ever-changing world, at the same time being “lifelong learners”.
The staffs at ARPS are committed to high expectations for all students and providing the best possible learning environment. We will continue to work as a team of students, teachers, parents, and community as we encourage our students to believe in themselves, gain knowledge, and achieve social skills in order to become successful at whatever they attempt as they move through their academic years. I expect that our students will become well-rounded adults, contributing to our community as a result of their nurturing at ARPS.
The school curriculum is a strong requirement today is to simultaneously weave a firm moral fibre in the student’s personality. The key to this goal is to pursue a value based education process. The practice of value oriented process acts as a nucleus around which all our school activities revolve .We are very conscious of the fact that emotional stability plays a very significant role in the healthy growth of a child. One of the important tools to achieve this is through more interaction and one to one rapport with our children. This open and interactive approach also helps in discovering and strengthening inherent talent in the students. All our school activities are based on a participatory spirit that reduces the inhibition levels of the students and thus assists the students in becoming aware of their potential.The school atmosphere evokes a team spirit amongst the students and teachers with a conviction that ‘We can do it’. The school motto ‘Soaring high is my nature’ constantly inspires us to achieve greater heights. We promote the joy and excitement of learning and also enjoy the pleasure of our achievements.
Welcome to the Hambledon Public School. Our school serves a small part of the Quakers Hill neighbourhood, which has only become fully established over the past twenty years.
We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school, focussing on teaching students the expected behaviours, rather than reacting negatively after a behaviour is displayed. Our School Learning Support Team (LST) provides aid for students experiencing learning difficulties or requiring additional assistance. The LST also coordinates activities to further foster and develop gifted students across the school.
At Hambledon we have constructed an environment which reflects the technological world of today. Our school has a connected classroom for video conferencing, a computer lab, a research centre based in the library, iPads, Microsoft tablets and interactive whiteboards in all classrooms.
